Harbourville, the best kept secret on the Bay of Fundy, considered by many to be the crowning jewel among the working fishing villages on this side of the Bay. Its natural harbour provides sanctuary to a fleet of colourful boats and is home port to generations of fishermen and their families.

A photographer's 'el dorado', visitors and tourists alike marvel at the breathtaking opening scene coming into Harbourville from high above on Highway 360. Rows and rows of lupines and quaint well kept homes and cottages are the gateway to a picturesque postcard harbour scene of unmatched beauty.

Newcomers and visitors are warmly embraced and welcomed by the villagers, its fishermen and its inspirational business community. This includes casual dining, B&Bs overlooking the Bay, lodgings and rental accommodations and cottages, a real fish market operated by the harbour's own captain of "Vicky & Boys", boat charters and tours to explore the Fundy, and very talented craftspeople and artists from the area who offer their individual creations in the local craft stores. To sum it up, the 'lore' of it all can be viewed at Harbourville's art gallery.

And if you are lucky, perhaps you too will see the ghost ships of the three masted schooners that crowded the harbour in the 1800's. According to legend, they still sail the oceans, making port in Harbourville on the first new moon of every equinox. Others have seen them in broad daylight, appearing mysteriously from a sudden incoming fog bank.
